King Saud Medical City is one of the largest general hospitals, located in Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Saud Road, Ulaishah District, Riyadh. King Saud Medical City consists of three hospitals including Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital, Pediatric Hospital, and includes King Fahd Kidney Center and Dental Center and has a Research Center. It has 1500 beds of which 180 beds are in the intensive-care unit beds. King Saud Medical City was established in 1956 and it included in this time 450 beds and consists of the following departments: General Surgery Department, including the Ortho - Medicine, childbirth and children - Laboratory - Pharmacy - Radiology - Vaccination. In 1962, outpatient clinics were opened. It was previously known as King Saud Hospital, later on, it became Riyadh Central Hospital and then Riyadh Medical Complex (Al-Shemaysi) and Now King Saud Medical City because of the breadth and the increasing number of fields and specializations.
