Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University is a public women's university located in north of the capital Riyadh. It is the first university in Saudi Arabia for girls and the largest university for women in the world. It has over 60,000 students. Colleges of the university has gone through several stages when was established the first educational Girls' College in 1970. The inauguration of more colleges followed, reaching 102. In Riyadh alone there are six colleges; namely the College of Education for Liberal Arts Disciplines, the College of Education for Scientific Disciplines, the College of Education for the Development of Teachers, the College of Social Services, the College of Home Economics and the College of Fine Arts. In 2006 was established university that included the six colleges located in Riyadh, in addition to a number of new colleges. The university was inaugurated in 2007 with the appointment of its first rector, Dr. Al-Jawhara bint Fahd Al-Saud. On wednesday 29-10-2008 was inaugurated the campus and changed the university’s name from “Riyadh University for Girls” to “Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University”. It includes now Health Colleges, Science Colleges and Humanities Colleges.
