Ministry of Education located in Riyadh. It is established in 1373 H. This ministry was responsible for education and it aims to quality education to build a knowledge-based society, and it provide an education for all in an appropriate learning environment in the light of the educational policy of the Kingdom, and increase the effectiveness of scientific research, encourage creativity and innovation, the development of social partnership, and improve the level of education. In 1344 was the first appearance of the education system in Saudi Arabia when the Directorate of knowledge was established. In 1346 was issued a decision to form the first Council of knowledge and the goal of it setting educational system that oversees education in the Hijaz region and with the establishment of Saudi Arabia Kingdom the powers of the Directorate of knowledge has increased it is no longer confined to overseeing the education in the Hijaz but included overseeing all educational affairs and in the whole kingdom, and it includes 323 School where she began a four schools. In 1371 H was created the Ministry of Knowledge during the reign of King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and it was the extension and development of the Directorate of Knowledge, and it was be responsible for the planning and supervision of public education for boys in three stages (primary - intermediate - secondary) and King Fahd was the first minister of it. In 1380 was the establishment of the General Presidency for Girls' Education in the Reign of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the number of 15 primary school and Institute, headed by Sheikh Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Rasheed. With the development of education was issued a royal decree annexing the General Presidency for Girls' Education to the Ministry of Knowledge in 1423, and a year later was converted the name of the Ministry of Knowledge to the Ministry of Education. In 1975 the Ministry of Education - university education has been established to be responsible for the implementation of the Kingdom's policy in higher education and was established a new universities, and scientific and practical colleges. In 2015 has been integrated the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education in one Ministry under the name of the Ministry of Education. The Current minister of Ministry of Education is Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Issa.
