University College of Jubail
University College of Jubail is located to the south of the industrial city of Jubail, which is just 79 kilometers north of Dammam city on the Arabian Gulf. University College of Jubail was founded in 2006, under the management of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, it was established in order to develop human resources, and to provide higher education and training to the Saudi workforce to be able to manage the growing economy of Saudi Arabia in all the different sectors correctly. Jubail University College is characterized by the beauty of its buildings and the surrounding green spaces. It is committed to provide the Saudis with the necessary academic skills for the industrial and other economical sectors they serve. Royal Commission for Jubail began the construction of the new headquarters building for the University College of boys and girls in Al Matrafiya neighborhood in Jubail Industrial City, two million square meters of land has been dedicated for it and the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 AD. After completing the implementation of the new headquarters, the university will have the ability to host up to 18 thousand students as well as students and teachers housing and other health and recreational facilities. The medium of instruction is English in all disciplines except for Islamic studies, physical education, Arabic language and study skills. The college runs a preparatory year program for students who must reach a prescribed level of proficiency in English, Mathematics and General Science before beginning their major studies in various disciplines. At present these include Business Administration and MIS, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design and English Language.
